MBBS Course Curriculum
- Academic Course
- The college offers five years MBBS course and one year internship training in Gazi Medical College & Hospital as required by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council leading to MBBS degree from the Rajshahi University. The academic session starts from January of each year or as suggested by the Government of Bangladesh.
- First Phase of MBBS Course (duration:11/2year)
- The First Phase of MBBS Course is spanned during the first one and half year (January to July of the next year) of the five year course. It is divided into three terms. The subjects taught during this period are Human Anatomy, Human Physiology and Medical Biochemistry. Forms of instructions include lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, practical classes, seminars and symposiums. The First Professional MBBS Examination these three subjects will be held at the end of and within the First Phase duration.
- Second Phase of MBBS Course (duration: 1 year)
- The Second Phase of MBBS Course spans for one year after the completion of the First Phase. The subjects taught during this period are Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Medicine & Allied Subjects and Surgery & Allied Subjects. Forms of instructions include lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, practical classes, seminars, symposiums, field visits and clinical/bedside teaching. The Second Professional MBBS Examination on Community Medicine and Forensic Medicine will be held at the end of and within the Second Phase duration.
- Third Phase of MBBS Course (duration: 1 year)
- The Third Phase of MBBS Course spans for one year after the completion of the Second Phase. The subjects taught during this period are Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Pathology, Microbiology, Medicine & Allied Subjects, Surgery &Allied subjects and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Forms of instructions include lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, practical classes, seminars, symposiums and clinical/bedside teaching. The Third Professional MBBS Examination on Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Pathology and Microbiology will be held at the end of and within the Third Phase duration.
- Fourth Phase of MBBS Course (duration:11/2year)
- The Fourth Phase of MBBS Course spans for one and half year after the completion of the Third Phase. That is it extends upto the end of the five year course. The subjects include Medicine & Allied Subjects, Surgery & Allied subjects and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Forms of instruction include lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, practical classes, seminars, symposiums and clinical/beside teaching. The Final Professional MBBS Examination on Medicine & Allied subjects, Surgery & Allied Subjects and Obstetrics & Gynaecology will be held at the end of and within the Third Phase duration
